Kenwood Corporation is based out of Japan. They mostly manufacture amateur radios and portable audio equipment. They were founded in 1946.

In 1999, Kenwood launched its first product aimed at the computer speaker retail market. They introduced two lines of speakers at that time, the CL-501 and the CL-701 speaker models. The goal was to provide quality computer speakers at a reasonable price.

The CL-501 was a 2.0 set of speakers that worked well if you just wanted to play some basic music through your computer. They were designed with attractive coverings and had some pretty good sound quality. These speakers were definitely made for the budget-minded computer user who did not put a whole lot of stock into have a great sounding set of computer speakers.

The CS-701 was more designed for the sound enthusiast. This was a 2.1 three-piece set that provided a great sound experience for any computer user. It added in a sub-woofer to carry the nice rich bass tones and provide that bottom-end that was missing in the CL-501 series. Although the sound quality was greatly enhanced with this model, these Kenwood Computer Speakers were still designed for the person who was on a budget and did not want to spend an arm and a leg on computer speakers.

Although we cannot find any official word, it seems that Kenwood has gotten out of the business of making Kenwood Computer Speakers. We have researched this and it seems that the CL-701 series was the last one manufactured. You will be extremely hard-pressed to find these in any marketplace today.

It seems that Kenwood has chosen to focus on other areas they are very popular with such as car audio speakers and receivers. One cool factoid is that they currently make all of the standard audio equipment for the Lamborghini Murcielago. How cool is that!

When looking for a new set of speakers for your computer, there are several factors that should go into making your decision. Especially when looking for the best computer bass speakers.

The first thing you should be aware of is what kind of sound card you have in your computer and what are its capabilities. You want to make sure that when you buy a set of computer bass speakers that your sound card will be able to provide enough power to the speakers and also be able to properly power the number of speakers you have.

A huge determining factor when selecting computer bass speakers is the bass sound itself. Nothing beats a nice crisp clear bass sound that thumps with no rattling. Have a good bass sound not only takes listening to music to another level, but it also makes gaming ultra fun!

So what exactly is bass? The word bass is used to describe the sounds of the low frequency or range. Bass tones are normally used to support the underlying rhythm in music. It provides support to the overall arrangement and gives overall body to the composition of the music.

Computer Bass Speakers

When you’re looking for computer bass speakers to buy, you want to make sure that you are getting a nice high quality design. There are models have the bass subwoofer on the floor or there are some models that have the bass speaker that sits right on your desk. Any of the brand named speakers that get good reviews would be a great choice such as Altec Lansing, Bose or Logitech. You don’t want to purchase some computer speakers and then a week later have problems. The subwoofer needs to be able to handle those low tones. A well-built sub-woofer will not rattle or distort even if you have the volume cranked all the way up. Do yourself a favor and get a good quality set of computer bass speakers!

Computer Sound Systems have evolved over time just ask quickly as we have seen computers make leaps and bounds on the technology front. We can look back and remember the standard two speaker setups that had no real sound quality to them. These were your standard 2.0 speakers. The 2.0 refers to just 2 speakers. Eventually 2.1 speakers were made. The 2.1 refers to having 2 speakers plus a sub-woofer. Today, Computer Sound Systems are designed to provide 7.1 channels.

Finding the right solution depends on what you are going to use your computer speakers for. You most certainly need to take into account what kind of sound card your computer has. Having a set of 7.1 computer speakers hooked up to a sound card that doesn’t have enough power will only cause many headaches. Sound is a huge factor when using your computer for such things as:

recording music

gaming

home theater setups

Computer Sound Systems have a huge price range. You can find your most basic setups for under $100, but the more advanced setups will cost you hundreds if not thousands of dollars. It all depends on what you are going to be using the computer speakers for. Some of the better computer speakers for recording music will run you around $500 or more, although there are some cheaper alternatives. A good 7.1 surround sound set for gaming will cost your between $200 and $300 dollars. If you just really enjoy listening to music on your computer and have just the basic requirements, then you can get a good set of speakers for under $100.

Before purchasing speakers for your Computer Sound Systems, you should check out the internet and read reviews. You want to make sure you are reading reviews from other people who are using their speakers for what you are going to be using them for (i.e. gaming). Know what the sound card in your computer will handle. This is a very important step that often gets overlooked. Set a budget for what you want to spend. Maybe you need to have a plan to save the money before spending. This is not so bad as it will give you time to review the best computer speakers. Buy a brand name. One that has been on the market for a while such as: JBL Computer Speakers, Altec Lansing Computer Speakers, Klipsch Computer Speakers or Harmon Kardon Computer Speakers.

We at Computer Sound Systems hope to make this task a bit easier on you as we will be striving to provide the best reviews, news and information on the best speakers for computer. We will be reviewing both old and new setups. Enjoy!
